It is habitational, and describes a person who originally came from a place known as 'the eagles lair', being a developed spelling of the Roman (Latin) 'aquilaria'. Hello cousin. I’m Pablo Aguilar also from Guatemala, raised in San Diego with my mom. Calixto Aguilar was my 5 great grandpa. In geni.com I see Calixto was from Toledo Spain. It says he was appointed alderman of quetzaltenango in 1801 from San Miguel Toledo. I’ve sent my DNA to ancestry.com and don’t see much Irish. How did you come across he’s from Ireland? Super interesting ??

Hi, I'm from Guatemala. All I know about the Aguilar side of my is that they came from Ireland. My 4th great grandfather was Calixto Aguilar, birth estimate between 1732 and 1790
