This most interesting surname may have derived from either of two origins. Firstly, it may be of locational origin, from either Corbon in Calvados or Corbon in Orne, in France. Hence the name may have arrived in England after the Norman Conquest of 1066. The surname may also have derived as a nickname for a man with strikingly glossy black hair or for one with a raucous voice, from the Middle English or the Old French "Corbin" Corbun", raven. Erik Corbett
I’ve traced my Corbett/Corbins back to Bartholomew Corbin/Corbett born around 1750 near Waterford. But I don’t know much about the family before that. The documents I’ve seen say a John Corbin of Dorset England may be his father but I’m not 100% sure

My mother was a Corbin. Her father, my granddad was ?George Oscar Corbin. I know there is town in Ky, (state of birth) called "Corbin Kentucky" I have seen my family tree and the Corbins go back a good way! I'd like to connect to that part of my family heritage.
