HAWKINS Family History
Amongst the long list of British naval heroes, the names of Sir John Hawkins and Lord Hawkins (no relation), the conquerors with Sir Francis Drake of the 1588 Spanish Armada, stand almost supreme. The name itself, deriving from the Olde English pre 7th Century "Hafoc" meaning "Hawk", is descriptive for one who possessed that bird's ferocious instincts. The name, as a personal name without a surname is recorded in the spelling of "Havok" in the Domesday Book of 1086, compiled by William the Conqueror. In the spelling form as Hawkins, the name is a double diminutive or patronymic which translates as "the son(s) of the son (kin) of the Hawk"...Select Audience

Cynthia Lou Rose Green
All from NC. Most every one in Halifax County NC. My name is Cynthia Lou Rose Green. My mom’s mom was a Rose and married a Hawkins. Making my mom a Hawkins. She then married into the Rose Family making her a Rose. Weirdly, the two families were distantly related and most of my cousins (not first and second ones) are double related. What I know of my Hawkins family.
Great grandparents:
Benjamin Sanford Hawkins and Irene Greene Hawkins (not the Green family I married into)
They had two children that I know of. Agnes Helen Hawkins Joyner (my great aunt, married to John Joyner) and James Otis Hawkins (my grandfather). Aunt Helen had a son Maneric Joyner, who married Caroly. My grandfather married Roy Lee Rose Hawkins. They had three children. My mom, Gloria Dean Hawkins Rose, Sanford Gene Hawkins and James McArthur Hawkins. Mom had five children. Sanford Eugene Rose, Cynthia Lou Rose, Melinda Carol Rose, Jenny Leigh Rose and Penny Marie Rose. Her brother Gene had three children, David Wayne Hawkins (deceased as infant), Robert Hawkins and Lois Carol Hawkins. I married a different set of Greens, Tony Ray Green and has two children. Anthony Scott Green and Michael Dee Green. Scott has two children, Kaitlyn Nicole Green and Brady Scott Green. Michael has two children, Gracyn Fayth Green and Corey Michael Green.

Dena, my grandfather is a Hawkins and I share the last name. He was from Oklahoma along with his other 7 siblings. I don’t know much about them expect for his sister Glena who is in a home there. I wonder if there’s relation?!

Hello my name is Dena and I am from the state of Oklahoma in the United States and I know that my birth name was Dena Renee Hawkins and that my family came from Kent England and also from Ireland and Scotland , but I have recently found out that I have family from Holland as well . Is anyone on here possibly related to me through blood at all?
