Johanna Keane (Abt 1840 - 5 Oct 1920) married Thomas Enright about 1860.Their children were baptized at St. Senan's in Kilrush, but there is no record of her baptism or marriage there. Johanna is my Great-great Grandmother. Wish I knew about who she was and where she came from.

My great x 3 paternal grandfather was James Thomas Keene, born in County Kerry, 1837, to James Thomas Keene (B. 1825 D. Unknown) and Deborah Savage (B. 1811 D. Unknown). James married Ellen Morrissey (B. 1841 County Kerry D. 1878 Temuka, New Zealand). They immigrated to New Zealand and settled in Temuka. James died in 1918. I have been unable to find ancestors beyond James and Deborah and would love to do so, along with other family members! Please contact Debi - debij.18@gmail.com

Greetings all. My father was Desmond Keane born 1920 in Killasser Mayo. His father Daniel Keane was from there and married a Lilah O’Keane from Kerry. So I’m a double Keane from my father and Killion from my mother who was from County Roscommon. There’s a great book about Killasser which contains amazing information about a number of my relatives including my great grandfather who was headmaster in the 1870s and who helped many of the local farmers set up a cooperative that took them from great debt to no debt, I was very proud! I was born in England and live there now but was brought up in a traditional Irish catholic family and visited my Irish cousins regularly as a child and since and feel very Irish. We have very dark hair, my sister’s hair is jet black, with pale complexion and green eyes so we look very Irish too.

Hi! Looking for relatives of the Keane family from Camp
Keane
Greetings from a Keane from Co. Kerry, Ireland. I have published a genealogy book that might be of interest to those with links to County Kerry, titled 'From Laois to Kerry'. Its available on Amazon.

(Part 1 of 3) The Keane name has a long history in Ireland, but now DNA and some recorded history says its origin is from the north-west region of the Emerald Island. The Keane story [dominated by DNA tribal marker R1b-L513, Subgroup D2] can trace their beginnings to the Finn Valley in Donegal, Ireland from 50 BCE. Perhaps the journey begins with the Clanna Dedad; Deda, son of Sen or Deda Mac Sin. The Keane surname origin is from the Cenél Conaill [R1b-L513, Subgroup D] who found the Dál Fiatach.

(Part 2 of 3) A group will also found the Kingdom of Ercing in Wales as trade with Romans will become essential around 300 CE. But how could this be? Recent discoveries from DNA testing are unlocking the migration patterns of Celtic tribes as late as 800 CE to 1200 CE. The Keane story begins in pre-history Ireland but this line and many of his kin will move to Wales, then travel to Brittany, France during the Dark Ages.

(Part 3 of 3) Discover their newly found untold story and how forgotten texts bring their story back to life. From the ebook, “The Tribe Within” learn how DNA unfolds this amazing tale and if you look in the right places, how history narrates this evidence. There is another written account of their story, but it is camouflaged in smoke and myth – it will become the tales of King Arthur. Greetings to my Matriarchal Tribe. I am trying to learn as much as I can about my tribe, my family, where we came from originally in Ireland and our history. My Grandfather was James Patrick Keane who passed away in March 2011. Growing up in Ohio, he eventually attended the University of Iowa, became a member of the US Navy during World War II and went on to star for the NFL Chicago Bears from 1946-1952. In 1952 he played for the Green Bay Packers. My grandfather lived in Chicago but the rest of the family seems to have been from OhioWest Virginia. Anyone help would be greatly welcome.
