This great and noble surname is of Norman origin, introduced into England after the Conquest of 1066. It is a French locational name from "Neuville" in Calvados or "Neville" in Seine-Maritime, Normandy, both so called from the Old French "neu(f)" new, with "ville", a settlement. My great great grandmother was born in Ireland around 1833. Her name was Charlotte Louise Neville. Her sister Sarah Matilda was born in 1828. I'm in California, USA and can't find any info on their parents. The girls moved to the USA before marrying. I'd love any info anyone may have.
